Boomerang shaped UFO seen over Texas

Report from MUFON: Date of event: April 22, 2011

“I live in the country, so there are no city lights to spoil the night view. I was planning to spend the evening just star gazing on the side yard. I had just sat down.

When I first looked up, my eyes stopped at the top of the trees in front of me at about 45 degrees in the sky. I was staring at what seemed to be a boomerang at about the size of one and a half inches at arm’s length, object was moving to the north.

I would say that the trek went from 45 degrees, thru 90 degrees, and another 45 degrees in about 25 seconds and then the right side rose up and it turned to the left at about 30 degrees and went behind the trees there.

At first, I thought that it was an experimental aircraft that they wanted to hear if anyone could see it, then, a flock of geese, no geese sounds plus when it took the 30 turn and raised the right side of the craft which I believe geese wouldn't mimic.

It was the most amazing sight that I have ever seen in my life, I stood in my yard for 10 minutes, searching the sky with my jaw dropped!”

Unknown lights in triangular shape over Texas

Report from MUFON: Date of event: April 19, 2011

“I took the dogs outside before they were to be put in their crate for the night.

I went to check the front door and garage door locks, and then I went out the back door. I heard a plane and saw it flying south, and it made me remember a story I read on a website about a UFO following a plane. Upon remembering that, I tried to get a good look at the plane, but it was hidden by my neighbor's tree.

I kept looking around in the sky because of some feeling I had that I was going to see something. And sure enough, I saw three white lights in the sky in a triangle shape.

At first I thought it was another plane flying overhead because of the placement of the lights, but I not only did not see the body of the plane, but the lights moved independently of each other as they quickly moved east/northeast.

The light on the right (southern-most one) veered away from the other two at an angle, and then they zoomed off until my neighbor's house blocked them from my view. This event took maybe 15-20 seconds from the time I noticed the lights until they disappeared behind the house.

I'm not saying it was alien-craft, but it just did not look like anything I had seen before. A minute or two later I went back inside and saw that the time on my stove said 11:49 pm (central time, and it might have been off by a few minutes).

I'm normally anxious at the unknown, but I was pretty excited to see such a sight, not scared at all.”

Lights caught on tape over Killeen, Texas in March of 2011

Notes from the original uploader, YouTube user “drrtysal13z”:

“My brother catches a glimpse of some lights in the sky that seem to be appearing and reappearing. UFO maybe? you decide.”

My first impression is that the lights are just flares. In my point of view, there is nothing that contradicts it; they light up and they fade, just as a flare would do.

In the comments to the video, they use the objects position to each other as a “proof”, that they are not flares, but what we don’t know, is their true distance to the cameraman, some objects may be closer, some farther away, and thus creating the illusion of being in a formation.

Unexplained activity intrigues Abilene store staff

“Anyone who has ever read Charles Dickens’ novel “A Christmas Carol” or watched any of the dozens of movie spinoffs knows that three ghosts were responsible for getting the miser Ebenezer Scrooge to see the error of his ways and embrace the true meaning of Christmas.

So, it’s not hard to imagine that ghosts might be trying to make their presence known to people working in a downtown Abilene building.

Dark shadows, cold spots and books flying off shelves are just a few of the unusual events which have occurred in the Case building located at 212 N. Broadway in downtown Abilene...”

Several motorists witness unknown object over Texas

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: August 2, 2010
Location of event: Texas, USA

"I was leaving my uncle's house around 10:30 PM, CDT. I made my way to I-20 heading west, and as soon as I found my lane trying to get into the middle lane, I immediately noticed the light directly in front of me well above the horizon, but not high enough for me to have to peek up out of my windshield. Not wanting to be a bad driver, I asked my girlfriend and brother to look and find out what it was.

They responded, "It looks like an airplane," so by then I had reached my exit to head south on 360 on the overamp, and I took another glance at it and said, "Are you sure that’s a plane?, it has no blinking lights, none of the signs that screams I’m an airplane!" I then told them, "Keep your eyes on it, and don’t lose it."

It only takes 7 minutes to get back to my house exiting off of 360, and I turned west on to my road. At that time, the object was perfectly positioned in between the trees down the street, now that I had focused in on it and the trees are moving past me. I was asking my brother and girlfriend if it was moving, but no one could tell me because of the cars' movement. So I pulled over next to a junior high facing west behind the school.

I parked and turned off the car. I was really excited and anxious to get some references to make some decision as to what it could be. Well, I got it because it was right over the tree line and sure enough its movements were a little left, then up, a little right, back up, then freeze.

At one time, it started coming back towards the southeast, but I watched it gain altitude a bit and resume its course back northwest. Overfilled with a rush, I hopped back in the car, went straight for my ladder, and got on the roof with my brother.

We observed this light change its colors - red, orange, and then white. It stayed on a steady course for over a half hour. In between, it would go dim, then go out completely, then reappear. I thought to myself after it had reappeared, "This is the real thing."

Chupacabra-like animals turn up in Hood County

"HOOD COUNTY — A small North Texas community is getting stirred up about some mysterious animals roaming around.

Two creatures have been killed in three days, near farms, only a few miles apart. Some are calling them chupacabras; even animal control officers are unsure what they are.

In his 25 years, David Hewitt has seen plenty of varmints running around, but nothing like the animal he shot on Friday...

The Aurora, Texas UFO incident of 1897 - Part 3 of 3

In 1897, six years before humans took to the sky by airplane, eyewitnesses from California to Michigan to Louisiana reported seeing mysterious cigar-shaped crafts sailing gently through the sky. But one of them stood out from the others. Something had crashed.

Part 3 - The quest for an explanation

As amazing this as this story might be, it could as easily all been an elaborate hoax. The town of Aurora had reasons to make this story up. Just months before the alleged crash, Aurora had gone through a series of tragic incidents. First, the economic source for the town (cotton farming) had been destroyed by a boll weevil infestation. Second, there was a fire on the west side of town claimed several buildings and lives.

Not long after the fire, an epidemic of spotted fever hit the town, nearly wiping those who had survived the fire. The fever also placed the town under quarantine, not making the situation any better. And finally, a planned railway never made it to Aurora, making Aurora even more isolate to the outside world. The town of Aurora was in danger of dying, and that’s why several researchers sees Haydon’s article as a last attempt to keep Aurora alive.

But if it weren’t a hoax, what was it then. Could an extraterrestrial actually crashed down on Earth in 1897. Of course there’s the possibility of that, but the explanation is probably more earthly than extraterrestrial. At the time of the crash, several patents for flying aircraft already existed, so crafts like the one who reportedly crashed could already have taken to the skies, but there is no proof of that. And the body that was said to be alien could very well have the badly burned body of the human pilot.

But there is one evidence left to investigate, the alien’s alleged grave at Aurora Cemetery. Over the there have several movements for exhuming the grave, but every permission have been denied by the Aurora Cemetery Association. They say they deny for the respect of others on the cemetery. But by making impossible to investigate the grave, it will be impossible to close this case. Just by a single look into the grave, we would be able to say that really as says in the news article or confirming that it all was just a hoax. Maybe one they will give away and open the grave, but if not we’ll maybe never know the real truth of what happened in Aurora 1897. The story lives on.

The Aurora, Texas UFO incident of 1897 - Part 2 of 3

In 1897, six years before humans took to the sky by airplane, eyewitnesses from California to Michigan to Louisiana reported seeing mysterious cigar-shaped crafts sailing gently through the sky. But one of them stood out from the others. Something had crashed.

Part 2 - MUFON investigates - uncovers physical evidence

This incident was soon forgotten and it became just a tall tale that spread from resident to resident. That was until May, 1973 when it was commented in UPI like this:

"Aurora, Tex. -- (UPI) -- A grave in a small north Texas cemetery contains the body of an 1897 astronaut who was 'not an inhabitant of this world,' according to the International UFO Bureau.

The group, which investigates unidentified flying objects, has already initiated legal proceedings to exhume the body and will go to court if necessary to open the grave, director Hayden Hewes said Wednesday."

"After checking the grave with metal detectors and gathering facts for three months, we are certain as we can be at this point [that] he was the pilot of a UFO which reportedly exploded atop a well on Judge J.S. Proctor's place, April 19, 1897," Hewes said." "He was not an inhabitant of this world.
"

As by over a night, the crash was big news again. And in article published some days, an interview with a living witness to the crash was. The 91-year old lady was fifteen at the time for the incident. She stated that her parents had been to the crash site, but that she wasn’t allowed to join for fear of what might be in the debris. She also recalled a burial of “a small man” at Aurora Cemetery.

MUFON INVESTIGATES – UNCOVERS PHYSICAL EVIDENCE
Not only became the press interested in this story. Later that year, Bill Case, an aviation writer Texas state director of MUFON, decided to investigate the alleged crash. MUFON was able to uncover a new eyewitness to the crash. Charlie Stephens, who was 10 in 1897, told MUFON how he saw airship heading north toward Aurora. He continued to tell that his father went to the town the next and saw the wreckage from the crash.

Eyewitnesses aside, were there any actual physical evidence from the crash? According to MUFON, there was. Under the investigation, MUFON was able to uncover a piece of metal that was said to be from the wreckage. The metallic piece was analyzed and it was revealed that it was composed 95 percent aluminum and 5 percent iron. This alloy is very uncommon in nature and after further analysis they were able to conclude that it had been air-cooled on the ground. This led to the assertion raised in MUFON's report that, given the presumption that it originated in 1897, the sample could not be of terrestrial nature, but they also stated that it just could have been an object put there at any time during the last century.

MUFON continued their investigation at the Aurora Cemetery and found a grave maker that appeared to show a flying saucer. Near the grave maker, detectable readings from a metal-detector were made. MUFON asked the cemetery association for permission to exhume the grave, but they declined.

After MUFON’s investigation, the grave marker mysteriously disappears and a three-inch pipe was placed into the ground. MUFON’s metal detector could no longer pick up any readings from the grave, thus it was presumed that the metal was removed from the grave.

The Aurora, Texas UFO incident of 1897 - Part 1 of 3

In 1897, six years before humans took to the sky by airplane, eyewitnesses from California to Michigan to Louisiana reported seeing mysterious cigar-shaped crafts sailing gently through the sky. But one of them stood out from the others. Something had crashed.

Part 1 - "A windmill demolishes it"

Early on the morning of April 17, 1897 a craft was seen over the little Texas town of Aurora. The craft came from the south and seemed to have mechanical problems. The craft lost altitude and crashed into a windmill on Judge J.S. Proctor property about 06:00 am. local time.

The craft destroyed upon impact and debris was scattered around the windmill. Witnesses that seen the craft coming rushed to the scene to see the still smoldering wreckage. As they searched through the debris, a small dead body was found, said to be the pilot of the craft.

NOT OF THIS WORLD
T.J. Weems, an army officer from nearby Forth Worth, said that it was not of this world and said it had to come from Mars. The body was given a proper Christian burial on April 18, the day after.

Almost all of the above information comes from an article published in the April 19 edition of Dallas Morning Star, who was written by one S.E. Hayden, a resident of Aurora. It states as follow:

"About 6 o'clock this morning the early risers of Aurora were astonished at the sudden appearance of the airship which has been sailing throughout the country. It sailed directly over the public square, and when it reached the north part of town collided with the tower of Judge Proctor's windmill and went to pieces with a terrific explosion, scattering debris over several acres of ground, wrecking the windmill and water tank and destroying the judge's flower garden. The pilot of the ship is supposed to have been the only one aboard, and while his remains are badly disfigured, enough of the original has been picked up to show that he was not an inhabitant of this world.

T.J. Weems, the U.S. Signal Service Officer at this place and an authority on astronomy, gave it as his opinion that (the pilot) was a native from the planet of Mars.

Papers found on his person (evidently the records of his travels) are written in some unknown hieroglyphics and cannot be deciphered. The ship was too badly wrecked to form conclusions as to its construction or motive power. The town is full of people today who are viewing the wreck and gathering specimens of strange metal from the debris. The pilot's funeral will take place tomorrow.

Three men witness UFO shoot beam to ground, near El Paso, Texas

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: June 13, 2010
Location of event: El Paso, Texas

"It was an ordinary Sunday night in El Paso, Texas, around 9:15 PM. My father, my brother, and I were driving back home, heading west. We were driving in the neighborhood area near home when my father noticed a bright light in the sky, and we all focused in on it.

It was moving very rapidly through the sky, way faster than any airplane or even jet could go, and covered the whole sky from north to south in just a couple of seconds. As we watched, it began to get bright, then dim, much like pulsating I guess you could say.

Then it began to hover toward the southwest area of town. As we watched trying not to lose sight of it, a green beam came from the bottom of it. I noticed at the bottom of it where the beam was, the object appeared to be pointed more like a diamond. The object only had the beam out for about 3 seconds at the most, and then just disappeared instantly.

As we began to search for it, it then appeared toward the west where it originally appeared. Then it raced across the sky to the north where it disappeared for good. As we arrived at some stop lights, we noticed a border patrol helicopter that was unlit and following the path where the object seemed to fly through.

We then raced home to try to see if we could get the object on video or binoculars. Unfortunately, there was no more activity in the sky, but we all tried to believe what we just saw.

We knew for sure it wasn't a airplane, jet, helicopter, or possibly some experiment from Ft. Bliss, which is the army base here. I guess you could say this whole experience was like being in "War of the Worlds."

Rectangular shaped object seen in Texas thunderstorm

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: June 3, 2010
Location of event: Texas, USA

"About 1:05 AM, June 3, 2010, a severe thunder / lightning storm was moving in from the northwest, and I saw a single plane-like bluish light moving through the very bad lightning and watched it wondering what the heck a plane was doing flying directly through the storm. The storm had to be at least 10 miles away, and the light I first saw moving through it was behind it, coming towards my direction, but it came on very fast.

It was fast enough that before I realized, it had gotten closer. I could see something that at first appeared to be a triangular shape or diamond shaped outline against the approaching storm clouds. It looked like it stopped, and I guess made a complete 90 degree turn, and then flew right over my head.

As it flew over, I could distinctly see it was a rectangular-shaped craft, and see the lines of its construction as well as markings underneath (couldn't quite make the markings out, but they looked like something an aircraft would be marked with). In the center of it, I could still make out the bluish light and could lightly see what looked like red squares in each corner, and still faintly make out the square outline of the craft, but if I hadn't been so curious about seeing a 'plane' flying through a bad lightning storm it pretty much completely blended in with the sky.

I doubt anyone else would be able to make it out unless they spotted it by chance and were watching. It was fast and silent. I couldn't estimate how high up it was since I am not sure what type of aircraft you could compare it to, but judging by how high it was coming through the storm I'd have to say pretty big for me to see that much detail as it went overhead.

It was bigger than any kind of aircraft I have ever seen. When I realized I was looking at something strange, I went to get my cell phone to take a picture or something but it was way gone, last heading towards the direction of Galveston Bay.

I'm sure it was military. I am confident of it. Just had a familiar kind of 'feel' to it as it went overhead. I would love to know what it was though, and would like them to explain how they got that kind of technology in the first place."

T shaped object seen by couple in Texas

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: May 25, 2010
Location of event: Texas, USA

"My wife went to the pool around 9:00 PM. At 9:07, she called me, but I could not understand what she was saying at first because the phone was making a weird whooping sound. I then heard her say, "UFO," and I rushed out to the pool. There it was, the same one I reported on Cinco de Mayo. I could see it very clearly this time.

My wife and I began to take video with our camera phones. I told her to go get her actual camera for better video. She went and got it and we began to take regular video of it flying all around for about 5 minutes. Then it swooped down out of site on the other side of the apartment. We assumed it had landed. I waited for a minute to see if it would come back and then decided to run to the other side of the building to try and see it.

That was what I did when I lost sight of it on the 5th, but this time it was still there. I took a few pictures and shot around another four or five minutes of video of it. There was a small crowd of other people across the street who had pulled over the watch it. It flew in an acrobatic style as if putting on a show still around 500 ft in the air like last time. But this time, it went up to around 1,000 ft and would swoop down to 500 ft. it made no sound.

It would hit a few hundred miles per hour every now and then. It flew around the same 3 or 4 mile radius for about 25 minutes. Then it was gone. I got great footage of it swooping at high speeds, then doing an instant change in direction. When I saw it on the 5th, I was unable to see it clearly and thought it was a triangle, but it seemed to be a T-shape as far as I could tell.

Last time through the tree I was only able to see four blue lights, and this time I could see 8 blue lights and a tiny red one in the middle. It had to be what messed up my wife’s initial phone call. When I took two of the pictures it seemed to blink in response."

Ghosts In The B-RI Railroad And Historical Museum?

"If you remember there was an article in the May 20th issue of The Teague Chronicle about Wide Awake Paranormal investigators spending time at the B-RI Railroad and Historical Museum to see if there was paranormal activity there. WELL, before they could even get started things became very interesting!

"We had just come back from dinner and were anxious to get started," said one of the investigators. "When we opened the door we heard a noise that sounded something like an alarm." They thought they had set off an alarm system at the museum and figured the police would show up soon. They waited but the police didn't show.

"We thought we would go in and see if we could find the source of the noise," the investigator went on. "It seemed that each time we thought we could tell where it was coming from and went there, the noise seemed to come from somewhere else...

Texas family observes unknown object over Highway 183

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: May 21, 2010
Location of event: Texas, USA

"I was riding in the rear driver's side seat of my dad's car on the way home from eating dinner out at a local Tex-Mex restaurant. My dad, his girlfriend, her 4 year-old son, and myself were in the car. There was a beautiful sunset setting up in the west, so our eyes were on a grouping of reddish clouds in that direction.

The skies were mostly clear, including the area just above the reddish clouds on the western horizon. As we drove north on 183 A (changing back to 183), I kept my eyes on a large, cloud-like object just above the reddish clouds that were illuminated by the sunset.

I figured that it was probably a stray cloud or an afterburner trail (a very short, dense one), but there seemed to be something strange about it, so I kept track of it as I kept looking out the window. After over 10 minutes of watching it from the car, I realized that the object could not be an afterburner trail, since it hadn't changed shape or faded at all, and was far too opaque.

At this point ,I told my dad and his girlfriend to take a look in that direction. My dad was driving, so he only got a brief look at it, but his girlfriend got a good, long look at it. It appeared to be quite large and distant, but at this point we were both fairly certain that it wasn't a cloud. There was a definite contrast between the shade of gray in this object and the clouds around it.

As we drew closer to home, the object was still there... hanging in the sky, completely static as far as we could tell. The object appeared to be somewhat ovular or disc-like, but the actual shape was difficult to tell because of how distant it was. We had to stop at a traffic light, and the trees near the road partially blocked our view of that horizon, obscuring the part of the sky where the object had been.

Once the light turned back to green and we cleared the obstructing trees, the object was gone. Not moved, GONE. At this point there was no doubt in my mind that this was a craft, and one that had either moved an incredible distance in a matter of less than a minute, or gone invisible.

My dad's girlfriend agreed that it could not have been a cloud or any other natural occurrence. Once we got home and out of the car, I started looking back up at the sky to see if I could spot the object again. When we were just about ready to go into the house, I saw an extremely bright, pulsating white light in the western/southwestern sky.

I pointed it out to my father and his girlfriend, and they both confirmed what I was seeing. It was as bright as a star (or brighter), and stayed stationary for at least 20-30 seconds. Then it moved horizontally at a high rate of speed into a cloud, which obscured it from our view. We had an excited conversation about it, and went back inside the house.

None of us have a good pair of binoculars or a telescope, so we weren't able to get a close look at either craft (or was it the same one?)."

Bigfoot in East Texas

"For years, people have claimed sightings of a large, human-like creature in the thick woods of East Texas.

About 500 people recently gathered in Tyler for a Bigfoot Conference to share their personal confrontations with the creature. Speaker Daryl Colyer, who has had an encounter with the beast, said he heard the legends and stories from families when he was growing up.

Colyer’s own encounter with Bigfoot occurred near the Trinity River in Liberty County. He and his wife were walking along a trail at dusk when they spotted a large, hairy figure with a musky smell...

Bright light was UFO says East Texan

"NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches man gazed into Sunday night's sky, and was transfixed by mysterious bright shapes. He says he saw a UFO. "It was just sitting up there, just bouncing up and down, bouncing up and down, moving back and fourth," said Albert Davis.

He was driving home from work with his family when bright, flickering lights caught his eye. "We knew it wasn't from here on Earth because...we've seen jets flying around and I don't think [it was] jets," said Davis. "We knew jets couldn't make the moves it was making...

Searching for Sasquatch here in South Texas

"LEAKEY, Texas - Last fall, after several people called police saying they saw something that looked like Bigfoot on the Northwest side of San Antonio, we were contacted by a group of men who call themselves Bigfoot investigators. They said they're convinced that Sasquatch is here and probably always has been. So, our Delaine Mathieu said -- prove it!

Last December, a homeless couple in San Antonio called 911 saying they saw something in the woods off Highway 151 and Culebra. "I would be a liar if I said I thought I knew what it was, but I don't know. I know it picked up that deer and walked," reported the caller. Police checked it out, but nothing was ever found...

Low flying objects seen in Texas

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: April 8, 2010
Location of event: Texas, USA

I was coming back home from college in my car, on the 83 highway, late at night. My mother called to see when I was going to arrive, and I answered her call from my cell phone. I was on the passenger seat at this time, while a friend drove me home. My mother was upset I was coming home late, so I ignored what she was saying to me, and instead looked out the windshield at a slight angle towards the driver's side.

Image left: Witness depiction.

In the sky, across from Alvarez Rd (in between Rio Grande, TX and Roma, TX), I saw a bright white light, a perfect sphere. My first reaction was: "Oh my God! What's that?

"Oh my God. it’s moving..." While the driver still drove at 55 -60 mph, I kept track of the object for a few seconds.

The object was NOT far up in the sky, but instead it seemed to be pretty low to the ground. I saw it moving down towards the ground as if it were going to land. It moved downward in the shape of an arc, a movement I believe no airplane or helicopter do when they plan to land.

Anyhow, I do not know if the object landed, because I lost sight of it once it got too low to the ground because of trees covering the view. I noticed there was a house near where the object was, but there may be more than just one. The driver did not see what I saw, but I wanted to ask people around the area where I saw this object if they had seen something similar to what I saw, but I was too scared of doing that for fear of being called crazy.

What made me first notice the object was its perfect sphere-shaped bright-white glow. When I first saw it, I didn't think anything of it; until I saw it was actually moving downward as if to land. I thought it could be perhaps a UFO because of the way it moved downward, forming an arc path.

During the sighting I felt in disbelieve; it was very unexpected, because I was not looking at the sky to find strange things, but yet there it was in plain sight. While still on the phone with my mother, I told her what I had seen: the bright, white light shaped as a sphere.

After the sighting when I got home, I asked myself what it could have been and started considering possibilities, yet I could not find an explanation for it. So I arrived at one conclusion: an Unidentified Flying Object... apparently about to land.

Multiple, unknown objects seen over Breckenridge, Texas

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 31, 2010
Location of event: Breckenridge, Texas

"My spouse and I saw some strange lights south-southeast of Breckenridge, Texas, at 8:30 PM this evening. The lights were in the direction of Eastland but possibly further south.

I spent the last hour before dusk planting beans and peas in our plowed field. I had just finished for the day and was standing at the NE corner of the field, with a clear 360 degree view of the sky. I was observing a few stars barely discernible above me, when something made me look to my south.

Image left: Witness depiction.

Suddenly a bright white-orange light appeared, then 4 more next to (east of) it. The four came on all at once. They all blinked off at the same time. These lights were approximately 10 degrees above the southern horizon. The lights only appeared for a few seconds each time.

I ran to the house, yelling for my husband to "Come quick, UFOs!" (I didn't know what they were at the time, still don't). I grabbed my binoculars and by the time we got to the field, the lights were gone, but as we stood there, a light appeared, then 3 more in a loose triangle formation.

They all blinked out at the same time, then slightly further east they all appeared again. Each time they blinked out, they would appear a bit further east until I could no longer see them because of the tree line."
