Multiple unknown objects seen over California

Report from MUFON: Date of event: April 14, 2011

“My wife and I were taking a walk and left the house a few minutes past 9:00 PM, PST. I shot a short video (32 sec) on my cell that is time stamped "04/14/2011 09:27 pm." We were watching the activity for about a minute and a half or two minutes before I began shooting.

The footage does not reveal anything, but it recorded my wife and I talking about what we were seeing, and it marked the time. Twenty minutes later we saw two more UFOs. We were just taking a stroll around the neighborhood. We turned a corner and were facing west. Before us at this point was about five miles of open land, then there was the outline of the foothills spreading north and south.

It is very dark where we were and we stopped to look at the starry sky. High in the sky at about "One O'clock" my wife and I saw a bright white light moving very quickly toward the south. It was first a fast moving ball of light, then a "contrail" appeared on the end of it. It wasn't a contrail, but a long trailing light like a rocket shooting up into space.

But this was going north to south and there was no smoke.

The contrail appeared only a few seconds. Then the light appeared to angle down and turn toward us (we were facing west). As it headed northeast (it was veering to our left) angling downward (but not steeply) it flared up and a fan of light radiated out from the front and trailed behind.

It was even all the way around and trailed off like a mist of light.

We could see the main white light inside this fountain of light that shot out the "front." Then the fan of light faded, leaving just the ball of light which then disappeared as well.

We scanned the sky and the white light appeared again about five seconds later, but it was bigger and closer (but still very far away).

This then disappeared and reappeared very quickly even closer and lower. The ball of light then radiated a fountain of light again, but it was red and the white ball inside was now red.

This red fan or fountain of light seemed to hover for what seemed a long time, but it was maybe a good 3 or four seconds. The fountain ended, leaving only the ball of now red light and the thing then veered upward and disappeared.  We live near an air force base and know the sounds of jets and helicopters.

About two minutes after the light disappeared a military jet flew from north to south before us and hightailed it in the same direction as the ball of light. We know a military jet from a passenger jet. This military jet zoomed across our field of vision and went after the red ball of light.

About twenty minutes later we saw two more UFOs high in the sky straight ahead of us. The second video we took is only 16 sec and is time stamped "04/14/2011 09:50pm." Cheap cell vid is only good for time and our comments.

Straight ahead of us and almost centered over the foothills was a bright star that was there during the above episode. Twenty minutes after the above and we were still watching the sky when we both saw a tiny ball of light come out of the "star."

The tiny white light came out on the north side of the star and did a backward 'C' move and stationed itself above the star. It hovered for 5 or 6 seconds and zipped up and to the north. AT THE SAME TIME THE STAR MOVED and went in a straight line to the south.

It just began moving southward. This "star" was right in front of us during the whole thing and slowly moved in a straight line to the south and disappeared really fast after it began moving.

We kept looking at the sky for another twenty minutes. Saw many military helicopters moving in the sky before us, but no more UFO sightings at this point.”

Lighted, rectangular-shaped object seen over California

“I awakened to use the bathroom. I went downstairs, turning on no lights, and then returned to my room upstairs in short order. I went to the window to look out at the moon and the Orion constellation (I often look out at the night sky before returning to bed).

The night was crystal clear and cloudless and I looked to my left at the stars and moon. I was immediately distracted by moving lights to my right and turned and saw a flying craft unlike any I have ever seen.

It was shaped like a box, square at the front with rectangular sides and underside.

The sky was very dark blue and the object was black against it. The perimeter of the underside was lined with lights, red and green (alternating), that sequentially turned on and off, giving a rotating effect similar to that of the lights bordering a theater marque. This object was large and very low. I estimate the front to be thirty feet square and the length ninety feet.

The surface of the object was absolutely smooth, featureless and non-reflective. There were no windows. The lights circling the lower perimeter were numerous. I estimate one hundred. They were not circular, but shaped like footballs standing on point and as large.

The window through which I was watching this object was closed, but the left side of my face was against the glass and I heard no sound. This was curious because this thing was so close. I estimate the altitude at about two hundred feet but heard nothing.

Equally as curious was the speed at which it was moving forward, maybe fifteen miles per hour and no variation. Its motion forward and level attitude also did not vary.

There was nothing above the object holding it up and nothing below supporting it. Nothing was ahead of it and nothing trailing. The object passed out of my view over the back of the house and I turned, stepped to the center of the room, paused, and then sat down on my bed.

Looking back, this inaction and loss of curiosity is out of character for me. I sat on the edge of the bed for a few minutes, eventually laying down, and slept until morning.”

"After seeing 4 objects on the 4th and 2 on the 23rd from our back yard as reported in earlier reports, my wife and I decided to go outside of town to get away from city lights just to see what we could see. So we went out to the delta about a mile north from Paradise Point Marina on the levee. At about 10 PM, I saw orange-colored lights coming from the south heading northwest.

They seemed to be south of the marina, hard to say how far it was, but they were low in the sky and moving slowly. It looked like they may have been by the port of Stockton, which was about 10 miles from us. My wife also saw these objects. There were 6 total, they seemed to be about a 1/4 mile apart as they came northwest. They all did a slow wide turn to the west and then back south towards Tracy.

We were watching them through binoculars until we could not see them anymore. There was no flashing lights you could see the street lights of the marina very clearly, and they seemed to be about the same size and a few inches higher than the street light from our view point."

"Monday night, a friend and I were out on my driveway talking and star gazing when my friend Robin saw something to the West of us approaching along a straight controlled path traveling in an Eastern direction. At first I could not see what he was talking about, but when he told me to look straight up and that it was about to pass above my car as the reference point I saw it.

The night sky was very clear and dark. The object was a distinctive V-Shape, very dark in color, and making absolutely no sound. It appeared to be dark grey, just slightly lighter than the sky making it visible to us. It blended in very well, but due to the color difference, we could see it clearly once we located it and followed it with our eyes. The shape was the only distinct characteristic.

The surface looked lumpy, not smooth like a stealth bomber. I thought it was flying pretty low in comparison to the many planes that pass over my house on a regular basis as they approach LAX. It flew at a constant speed, which didn't seem very fast, so we were able to track it for a couple of minutes before we lost sight of it. As the city lights caused the sky to be lighter further to the East, the craft blended in completely leaving us to lose sight.

The UFO had no lights, and the shape was a much tighter V than the shape of the B-2 stealth. I assume it was a military plane of some sort, but the scary thing is, I don't really know what we saw."

Three witness objects that materialize/dematerialize over Bodega Bay, California

"On the night of Saturday June 13 at 2 AM in Bodega Bay, California, myself and two other people with night vision binoculars spotted five objects in the night sky that were not planes or satellites. These objects would materialize and dematerialize and move not in straight lines. They would start to materialize more or less in the same spot, then move to other areas in the sky.

During the night we saw planes that would strobe so they are easy to pick out. We also saw one satellite that appeared low in the sky and traveled across to the other side of the sky and it was straight and steady in color. We also saw lots of meteoroids. So needless to say, WE KNOW WHAT WE SAW and for sure it was a UFO.

We also had a very powerful green laser and it kind of seemed like the UFO could see it because when we turned the laser in the direction of the UFO it would dematerialize, and when we stopped pointing it at the area of the UFO it would then rematerialize. This was very strange, and I have never seen this happen before and we have seen UFOs before and have done the same thing.

What ever people think of this is up to them, but the three of us know what we saw and for sure these things appeared to be under intelligent control."

"I was driving northbound on the Interstate 5 with my father and girlfriend leaving a family get together. We were still in Orange County, just passing Disneyland when I noticed two very bright disc-shaped objects in the sky. They looked like a bright pink, not as bright pink as the sky around the objects. My first thought was these two objects were perhaps clouds, although there were no clouds at all in the sky.

They looked to be about 500 yards between each other, both moving east. As we drove further down the highway they had become brighter and more disc-like. It was at that point when we knew they were not clouds. We were watching these discs for about 7 minutes when they moved west.

One disc started approaching the moon, it looked like, but when it had just passed the moon it slowly vanished and was completely gone, which blew my mind. The other disc still appeared in the sky for only about two more minutes when it started approaching the moon and then vanished like the other.

At certain times it looked as if it had a fire type of trail behind it. I thought maybe it could be rockets, but I have seen many rockets in my life and they were not like this shape and metallic color, and I have never seen any object in the sky vanish."

"At 2245 pm I was in my backyard (chasing away a skunk) when a bright, emerald green light caught my attention. It stood out against the sky and the street lights. I initially thought it was a plane, but then noticed the light disappear and then reappear 2-3 times. This light switched between green and bright white, which peaked my suspicion.

It stood out against the sky and the street lights. So I moved to the front of the house, and aligned the light to the peak of a neighbor's house. This assured I could verify the movement of the light more precisely. I watched this light for approximately 10 minutes, as it moved quickly around the sky in a southern direction, closer toward the Monterrey Bay area.

As I was observing this green light, a brilliant sapphire-purple colored light appeared to the west (right) of the green light. It moved in all directions, altitudes. As like the first, the light would disappear, then reappear, except not changing colors. I watched this for a few more minutes, when it dropped in altitude and headed toward the green light, then disappeared.

There was no movement for maybe 5 minutes, when I noticed the sapphire-purple light reappear in a more westerly direction. I followed it as it dropped in altitude(following it over another neighbor's roofline), then headed in a westerly direction over the bay and out of eyesight.

This lasted from 1045 pm to 1105 pm. I just wished I had another person to experience this with... not a skunk. Keep looking up!"

"On May 13, 2010, we were driving back from my sister's house. She lives in Selma. My mom was driving, and I was in the passenger seat. We were driving North on McCall Ave., from Selma, and as we turned right on North Ave towards Sanger, that's when I saw what I thought was a plane hovering in one place over a field about 500 ft from North Ave.

It wasn't that high because I saw it out of the windshield. It caught my attention because it wasn't moving, it was just floating there. I told my mom to look at it, but she could not turn her head and drive at the same time. I got my phone and I called my brother, Jeffrey Gonzalez, who is a investigator for MUFON. I told him what I just saw, and he said it was a plane because Jeff said there is one landing at the airport and I told him, "No, it's not a plane."

He told me he was going to get into his truck and drive in the direction so he could videotape the craft. I told him it was a triangle with white Christmas lights all around it. I hung up the phone and a couple of minutes later he called me back. He was about to ask me in what direction was the craft heading - then both our phones got disconnected. I thought it was weird because I have a I-phone and it has never done that before.

I noticed that I had all my bars for good reception. My phone rang again and it was Jeff, he asked me what happened and I told him I don't know why our phones went dead. Then he asked me once again which way was the craft going, and as I was going to tell him, our phones went dead again. Again, I had all my bars. The phone rang again but by that time I could not see the triangle anymore. I know I should have taken a picture, but when you see something like that you freak out. Here is a picture that I drew, (see above) I guess it was the same size as a military jet."

Unknown object makes incredible moves over Anza, California

"My friends and I were camping in Anza Valley, near Thomas Mountain. We had a camp fire on a ridge, and were enjoying the night. After most of my friends went to sleep, my friend and I decided to take a hike at about 3 AM. We walked approximately 100 yds up to the top of a hill that provides a 360 degree view of the valley to the north, and Thomas Mountain at south by southwest.

Upon reaching the top of the hill near our camp site, which was actually just a cut off of the dirt road south of lake Hemet off of the 74, we spent a few minutes at the top, enjoying the view, and then decided not to continue over the hill since we would lose sight of our camp fire. Once we started heading back, what appeared to be a large, bright, and consistently lit shooting star pierced the sky to the south, somewhere over Thomas Mountain.

About 3/4 of the way through the object's flight, the object sharply changed direction downward from its 45 degree descent to a straight down dive. It then disappeared behind the mountain without a flash or sound. My friend and I immediately took notice of the puzzling turn of the meteor, and verified that we both saw a projectile turn 45 degrees in the sky without losing any velocity, or having any curve at all. This was also clear through the tail that followed the object.

The tail of object followed it perfectly, creating a 45 degree angled shape in the sky, before dissipating. Also, the trail was extremely straight and clean. There was no spreading of light or particles as it entered the atmosphere. We were both so scared by what we saw, that we ran full speed back to our campsite and didn't speak of it till later the next day.

What I saw was physically impossible, no physical object can move at that speed, make no noise, and be able to turn so sharply without slowing down or even curving into the turn. It was similar to watching a neon light ignite from top to bottom, speedily filling a bent tube. Very eerie.

What we saw was real, it came from out of the atmosphere, and it behaved as if under intelligent control. We considered that the object may have exploded and split off in a downward direction as meteors may do, but decided that the conciseness of the turn and the fact that the object changed in no way other than direction, there's no way it was a meteor. I know what I saw, and now I'm a believer."

"My wife and I were coming back home after an after-dinner walk around our neighborhood. The sky was clear and the big dipper was up there in all its glory. I pointed it out, and she saw it. Suddenly, a movement caught my eye.

I thought it was going to be a satellite, and got excited to show wife something she's never seen. I started to say, "Hey, look, a satellite," but then, I stopped pointing up and said, "What is that?" It was a triangle - you could see the outline of a perfect triangle moving through the sky. In its corners was a faint gray/blue/white light, more gray and white than blue.

The lights were also triangle shaped. It moved from my back [southwest] to my front [northeast] curving slightly to east before fading out of view. The UFO was silent, no other lighting, it didn't appear to have a shadow. It seemed almost see-thru. There was an aura about it.

You could clearly make out the outline and lighting. My wife asked if it was an owl, I said, "No owl, that is a triangle." We asked each other again, but by then it had moved out of our view. I did think at first it was a satellite, but very quickly changed my mind.

My mind thought, "Oh, my God, this is a possible UFO." But I still questioned myself. My wife and I were thankful that we got to see this, we both know now that we saw a UFO.

We will never forget it."

I-Team: Was the Needles UFO a Secret Military Craft

"NEEDLES, Ca. -- It's a UFO, in the literal sense -- it's still unidentified. Half a dozen witnesses say they saw something in the sky over Needles and Bullhead City or watched it being carried away by a phalanx of military helicopters. Was it a spy plane or a drone or something more exotic?

Several eyewitnesses say the mystery object blazed out of the sky in the early hours of May 14, 2008. The long cylinder with the turquoise glow was seen over Bullhead City by former cop Frank Costigan and others. It seemed, at one point, to slow down in its descent.

South of Needles, a fisherman in a houseboat saw the light pass over and slam into the riverbank 50 or so yards west of the Colorado River. Minutes later, at least four military type helicopters appeared in the area and a giant sky crane was used to haul the object into the air and away toward the north..."

Triangle UFO clearly seen in Ventura, California

Date of event: April 15, 2010
Location of event: Ventura, California

"At approximately 9 PM PDT, on April 15, 2010, in Ventura, California, I was looking toward the west at the constellation of Orion when I heard a brief “screech” sound lasting around one second and coming from the vicinity which I was viewing. Thinking it was an owl, I quickly looked for it and saw a faint silhouette of something moving in the clear sky.

At first it looked like it was a large bird high in the air as the front and two sides were heavily darkened against the mostly dark sky. It was moving toward me and over a period of about 2 seconds, it became clearer and resembled a hang-glider. It was descending and moving toward the east, and seemed to be gliding smoothly, making no sound that I could hear.

As it reached its closest point to me, what looked to be several hundred feet or so, a very sharp and definite outline appeared. It was an equilateral triangle, and had three circular areas symmetrically placed near the tips. There was a slight contrast between the gray triangular area and the circular areas, as the circular portions had a very faint glowing quality to them.

As it silently continued moving away from me, the craft seemed to have only 2 dimensions. It looked completely flat like it was a projection. It began to gently ripple with smooth wave patterns, and disappeared within a little over a second after doing so. The total event lasted around 8 seconds. I have my master’s degree in physics, and teach college level physics as a career. I am also involved in astronomy. I am about 20 minutes drive from a naval base and do hear and see military aircraft from time to time.

Though it is possible that I was seeing a “secret aircraft,” I am doubtful that such a craft would be flown in such plain view as it was very apparent what was seen. Judging from the change in angular diameter, its descent was fairly rapid and it changed from a dark, fluctuating shadow into a crisp configuration, lightly contrasted against the clear dark sky.

I would estimate the base of the triangle to be around 50 feet, though I could be way off. Once leveled off at around 500 feet, it glided forward at perhaps 100 miles per hour until it disappeared from sight somewhat like a mirage does. The measured angle from the horizontal at which the craft began to wave out of sight was around 20 degrees. It all happened very fast and was short in duration, making it difficult to be definite on measurements.

All in all, I saw a craft without doubt and I am perplexed by what I have seen."

Strange, boomerang shaped UFO seen over California

"My friends and I were in our hometown of Red Bluff, CA, for the annual rodeo each year, on April 17, 2010, and we had just finished eating dinner at our friend B's house. Around 9:30 PM, we decided to go into town for the festivities, and since there were more than a handful of us, a few of us had to jump in the back of my buddy T's truck.

We were all laying down in the bed of the truck so that we wouldn't be pulled over. It was myself, "K", "B", and B's brother "C", who were in the back of the truck. As we drove along, we were all talking loud, looking around at different things as we whizzed along Wilcox Rd, when suddenly I hear "K" yell out, "Hey, I see a UFO!" and I was like, "What? You're kidding," and I look up into the middle of the sky directly overhead and see this strange shape that at first reminded me of an angular cloud, in a kind of boomerang shape, but a cloud that was moving, and moving quite briskly.

It immediately clicked in my mind that this was not a natural object or a natural cloud. It moved in a fashion that is impossible for a cloud, and there was not a natural cloud in the nightsky, it was completely clear out. As my disbelief turned to awe, I continued to stare at the object as it glided over our position in complete silence, and I saw that within the cloudy substance that flowed from the front of the object to the rear, was a geometric boomerang shaped object, with sharp lines, as if drawn by a ruler, contrasting against the background.

The cloudy mist-like substance seemed to spring forth out of nothing from the front of the object, and trailed over the rest of the craft towards the rear. And as we gazed on in amazement for what was probably at most, 10 seconds, it approached the tree filled horizon, and that coupled with our turn on the road, took it out of our view.

We could not believe our eyes, and started cursing a myriad of profanities uttering our complete amazement at what the hell just happened, and what the hell we just saw. "B" and "C" had looked up a bit later than "K" and I, and had failed to see the geometric boomerang shape within the cloudy substance, but they did see the cloudy mist, in an angular fashion, gliding across the sky in a straight line briskly. It had absolutely no sound at all, no lights, and moved in a completely straight line, in a direction that I believe was North or Northeast.

We have no idea how big it was, only that it looked extremely large. When talking about it with "K" later he told me that he held his hand up to the sky afterwards, with his pinky finger and index finger extended outwards, the others tucked in, in a sort of devil's horn you might say, and he felt like the distance between the two fingers pointing outwards was a good approximation of the wingspan of the strange object in the sky. This however, really does not solve the question of just how big it really was, rather it only makes the argument for it being rather large. If it was close to us in the sky, it was still huge as all hell, and if it was even higher up in the sky, then its size is even larger, almost mind boggling large.

This story is written with all honesty and complete truth. Both "K" and I had always believed in the possibility of UFOs, but had never seen or experienced anything like this in our lives. After talking about it more and more, we both feel like this is an event that has changed our lives forever. To us there is no question about it: this was a real UFO, and it was not of this Earth. There is absolutely nothing manmade out there, not the stealth bomber, or anything, that can match up to what we saw that night.

Immediately the following day after seeing the object, I began to research online what sightings of UFOs were out there that met the same description, and I came upon a sighting of a UFO seen over Belville, Texas, in September of 2009, Case Number 19343. The article describing the UFO fit our description perfectly in almost every detail. The way it was described to be moving, that at first it seemed to be a fast moving cloud, but not a cloud at all, the way it looked, and the way it glided across the sky in a straight line.

After reading this, I knew that this was the exact same craft we saw, and that we were not alone in witnessing such a spectacular object. I will forever be changed by this. Let people judge me how they may, but I speak the truth. This is what I saw, and I was not alone in seeing it. Something IS out there."

Huge, object with four lights seen speeding in California skies

Location of event: near San Francisco, California

"I went outside for a smoke at around 1:10 AM this morning. I was looking at the stars facing southwest, when something caught my eye. I quickly looked over, and in 1-2 seconds I saw 4 lights moving at an incredible speed past the roof of my house. I quickly ran around to the side of the house to see what it was.

For the next 2-4 seconds I clearly saw 3 lights forming a triangle speeding across the sky directly south. There was also a light right in the middle of all 3. There was a large distance between the lights, because at the speed they were moving, they stayed in perfect unison probably 5-6 miles apart from each other.

I'm not sure whether or not these were rim lights to some large craft, but it seems unlikely since the distance between them stayed in a perfect triangle. If this is the case, the craft must have been absolutely huge. The speed of this object was approximately (and I'm guessing here) 10-15x faster than the airplanes I observed in the sky over the San Francisco Bay Area during the minutes after the sighting. I can't stress enough that this thing was moving INCREDIBLY FAST!

The night sky during the event was very hazy, with the lights from San Francisco making it hard to see the stars. I lost sight of the object in the haze traveling southward. The lights also appeared to be speeding up. For the past year, I lived outside the city, and saw many shooting stars during the night and early morning.
