Bright light chases motorist in Utah

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 15, 2010
Location of event: near Vernal, Utah

"In the evening I was driving home from Vernal, Utah, with my wife and son in our car. At about 7:30 PM, local time, a HUGE, bright, amber-colored light just popped out of nowhere in front of us. It was about 3 miles from me, and about 35 degrees up in the sky in the West. I noticed it because it was obviously the only light in the sky at the time. There were absolutely no stars, planets, planes, or any other sort of light.

I have seen this exact light in the sky before, at least six times this year already! I felt as if it really wanted us to see it. I proceeded to finish driving home. As I was continuing my drive, it moved with me to about 10 degrees above the western horizon. When we got back to my home, I grabbed my camera out of my Jeep and started filming. The object stayed in view for about 30 minutes total. My witness to this is my wife, Nicole, and the footage I have provided.

After filming for about 10 minutes, the object slowly flew North toward the Uintah Mountain Range. It didn't fly off or zoom off, it just kind of faded out of view. The very next day at about 6:30 PM, an unmarked Blackhawk helicopter flew right over my head and went in the exact same direction as the UFO. I even have footage of the helicopter taking pictures of me and my family. In all of the times I and my wife have seen this object, we never ever felt any fear."

Video taken of unidentified lights near O'Hare Airport

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 10, 2010
Location of event: near O'Hare International Airport, Illinois

"I stepped out back to have a cigarette and it was before daylight savings, so it was very dark still at 8 PM. From my yard I can see many flights preparing to get into their landing paths as O'Hare is east of me, but this was different. Looking EAST from Carol Stream to what appeared to be in the direction of O'Hare, there was a cluster of bright lights in a horizontal line that remained stationary, bright, and flashed red and orange at this point (almost spinning), some moving in and out of vision and some staying, but the ones that disappeared returned to sight after just seconds.

For the most part they stayed in a horizontal line or moved to a semicircle formation with some disappearing and returning and some disappearing all together. But there are consistently 2-3 bright, glowing, pulsating orbs that just didn't move at all.

Assuming they were planes, I continued to watch them to make sure they were moving lower to land, but it didn't happen. The distance from the ground wasn't changing. I grabbed my camera, jumped in my car, and drove about 2 miles East to the mall parking lot where the lights were still there - pulsating and moving in and out of the picture/videos I've included.

Still not convinced, or maybe just freaked at this point and amazed that no one else was seeing what I saw, I drove another approx 2 miles east to a parking lot that's on a hill where I was able to get additional shots of the view where these orbs were STILL visible. Being visible from my backyard that night, I've checked every night since at various time to see if it was possibly planes in a holding pattern, but it's not happened since. I hadn't really noticed them spinning / pulsating with the naked eye, but noticed when I viewed the videos.

The first video (seen below) was from the mall parking lot (2 miles east of my house) and the second video (not shown) was from the hilled parking lot (4 miles east of my house). I used just a Cannon digital camera and have little skill and apparently shaky hands, but tried to zoom in / out so you can see the landscape. I also have some pictures as well. Keep in mind the line of bright, white lights in the video under the white and orange pulsating orbs are actually street lights. Keep your eye right above them to see the pulsating orbs moving in and out of view (video 2).

Editor's Note: Video two has a lot of flare, and was difficult to watch, so I did not include it here) The picture quality is not very good, but zoom in on the lone, orange orb high above the street lights. Maybe a plane, but in line with video 2 and the orbs.

The sky was clear and it was approx 40 degrees. I'm sorry for the quality of the videos, but it was the best I could so at the time."

Three witnesses observe unidentified object near Santa Barbara, California

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 20, 2010
Location of event: Santa Barbara, California

"At approximately 8:15 PM PST, a group of three individuals witnessed a large, bright, white spherical light moving in a southerly direction towards the city of Santa Barbara. The individuals were facing in the southerly direction when they noticed the light at their 11 O'clock. The object emitted no sound.

Its size was approximately one eighth of the visible moon surface, and equal in brightness. It had no visible blinking lights. The individuals watched the object for approximately 40 seconds. From the viewpoint of the individuals, the object traveled from their 11 O'clock to 9:30 coming from out of a northerly direction.

The object then appeared to fade at the 9:30 position rather than continuing on a more "natural" orbital course. The location of the viewpoint is in the foothills north of Santa Barbara, between Hwy 154 and the 101 just off San Marcos Rd.

The skies appeared clear. The temperature was roughly 58 degrees Fahrenheit."

Unknown object videotaped over Ohio, caught disappearing

Description from the original uploader:

"Mysterious flying object over near Lake Erie that moves extremely slow over the course of about 5 minutes, then mysteriously disappears. The object seems to face us the entire time with its lights directed towards us. I thought about the possibility of this object being a airplane, but I believe I have ruled that out, because for that to be a plane and for the lights to be visible for us to see then the plane would have to be coming at us head on. We would have never be able to see the lights if the plane was traveling in a heading that would have prevented us from seeing them. However the lights never seem to dull, an the object slowly moves horizontally across the sky, then all of a sudden it dissappears.

We took the recording back home, an ran it through Vegas Movie Studio and analyzed the object frame by frame, an right before the object disappears the light suddenly intensifies... and then it disappears leaving only a brief gray discoloration that lasts for 3 frames. This recording comes only 10 days after a string of sightings that have captured local news attention in Euclid Ohio on March 7th, 2010.

Filmed at 7am on 3/18/2010 from Walnut Beach in Ashtabula, Ohio near the breakwall. Roughly 60 miles east of Cleveland, Ohio. Comments and thoughts appreciated, I plan to be back on the beach with camera in hand hoping to capture more of this unexplained activity."

Large, glowing object seen over Mackey Mountain in North Carolina

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 15, 2010
Location of event: near Mackey Mountain, North Carolina

"At around 8:00 PM I went to the grocery store about 2 miles from my house. I spent about fifteen minutes inside. It was dark. As I'm walking to my car in the parking lot, facing west is a group of 3 mountains, Greenlee, Hoover and Mackey. Directly above Mackey is a VERY bright object.

I stop and look and rush to my car. The shopping center is attached to a Lowes Hardware. Lowes is in a large field that borders a large shrub farm. I drive to Lowes parking lot and roll down my window, facing west. The object appears to be white with hues of blue emanating at times.

Mackey Mountain is about 3 miles away, as the crow flies. I watch the object for a few minutes, and decide it might be overhead at my house, because you can see Mackey from my front porch.

I call my dad on my cell phone and tell him to go outside and see if sees anything. I keep my eyes on the object until I start getting closer to Mackey and realize it must have been behind the mountain instead of over top of it.

This would make it MUCH larger than I originally thought. I turn back around and go back to Lowes but it is gone. My father didn't see anything.

This is not the first experience I've had. Had a very intense experience in '05. I came home to check if anyone posted sightings in NC and someone had posted one today in Wilmington. That's the east coast of the state and I'm at the western part of the state. Perhaps the two are related."

Birght light seen in Virginia

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 10, 2010
Location of event: Staunton, Virginia

"I first saw a very bright light (as bright as noon day sun), shortly after sundown - about 1850 hours, in the distance over the Blue Ridge west of Staunton, Virginia from my kitchen window. I got my binoculars, 10 power, and went outside. With the binoculars I saw four very bright lights close together moving slowly to the West - approximate distance 10 miles. As I watched the four lights, three of them appeared to spread out like a fireworks multicolored starburst.

Then, I noticed another object lower on the horizon a few miles to the north, and further away doing the same thing. These were not airplanes or helicopters, I have been around enough of both in the military to know the difference. The object was moving slowly toward the West probably not more than 10 miles per hour. Altitude estimate about 2,000 feet above the mountain tops for the first object, perhaps lower for the second object.

It was a very clear night with excellent visibility. I lost sight of the object as it moved slowly to the west over the horizon.

Blue lighted object seen near Lakeland Florida airport

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 6, 2010
Location of event: Lakeland, Florida

"I saw something on March 6, when I was driving by Lakeland Florida Airport. From a distance I thought it was just several planes flying in a close formation, but that is explainable because they may have been landing. When I got closer I saw that there were seven small, blue blinking lights like you would see on the bottom of airplanes. It was these flashing lights that lead me to believe they were planes at first.

As I got even closer I saw that they were completely still. Totally frozen. Hovering motionless. It couldn't be planes. They can't hover. The lights were pretty close together. They formed kind of a long triangle? Not the usual triangle that people see. The people in my car said maybe they are. Why would seven soundless helicopters sit there hovering in the dark without their search lights on?

Me and everybody in the car came to the conclusion that it was a UFO. I don't know that it was aliens, but it was weird. Other cars on the highway were looking up at it too, so we weren't drunk or hallucinating. The lights weren't randomly scattered.

They were in a geometric formation, which lead me to believe it was one craft. We were on the highway so we didn't stop, but as we kept driving we saw two or three more of these lights higher up and not close to the craft. They were the same exact blue blinking lights that blinked on and off about once every second. I would have just thought they were stars if I hadn't just seen the same thing closer up in a formation.

Also, in the past around a year ago, I saw what looked like a rod. I was in Miami and it was during the day. The rod was really far away and the way that the sun reflected on it made it not possible to be a cloud. As I kept looking at it, I thought that it probably wasn't a plane because it was going really slow, but I wasn't sure because again, it was far away.

All of a sudden it shot off and disappeared. One time I was in a car in Orlando and I saw a white ball floating in the distance. But since the car was in motion, the tree line got in front of it for about 6 second.s When I could see the place it was again it was gone.

The last two sightings I didn't think much of, but I thought I would let you know since I was making a report anyway. The first one though was really weird and I'm positive it was not explainable by known aircraft.

UFO paces motorist on Arizona highway

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 3, 2010
Location of event: Arizona, USA

"While driving from my house heading west I noticed what at first appeared to be a satellite in the night skies. But when I saw it was moving up and down in a split second, and its orange/red color I changed my mind. After that I came to a stop sign and change my direction to the North and the object also accelerated to the North with great speed.

By then I was driving in the middle of the road because I could not belief my eyes. Then, I came to a street light and changed my direction to the East and guess what? The object changed direction to the East, by that time I was a little nervous.

But still I was thinking there’s another explanation for what I was seeing. All my windows were down, so there was no reflection of any lights. Again I stopped at a street light and focused my vision on a light pole to confirm that the object was moving, and sure enough it was.

It almost seemed to me that it had the same heading and speed as my car - stopping and going like my car was. Scary stuff! Finally, I changed directions to the north, and of course the object did the same, by that time it seemed to be almost on top of central Tucson and finally it disappeared.

It was like the object dimmed its light.

Motorist in Texas sees bright object that dissapears

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 2, 2010
Location of event: Texas, USA

"After dropping my son off at school, I was driving home on the access road of 410 heading east when a bright object in the sky caught my attention. The object I thought might be a star, but I questioned how could it be so bright with the 7:30 sun shining? I was captivated and stunned.

I stared to at it to try and figure if this object had its own light source, or if the sun was reflecting from it. The object did not seem to move as I was looking at it. It may have had motion, but would have been difficult for me to see since it was so high up and I was driving. Had I been still, I may or may not have seen it in motion. As I was looking into the sky, I had nearly forgotten that the road (I'm all too familiar with), merges into one lane. From my peripheral vision, I notice the car in the next lane and I nearly collide.

I swerve to avoid hitting it, and the driver slows down to let me get ahead. I readjust my vehicle on the road and look back to scan the sky.

It's been about 5 seconds since I took my eyes away from the object and it's gone. I figure since I'm in motion, perhaps I maybe mistook the location of the object in sky. I quickly turned into a neighborhood just off of the access road and drove back west, then drove back onto the access road in an effort to study the sky from the position I had been in just one minute prior.

I still saw nothing. I'm baffled. By the way, not one cloud in the sky. I tried to come up with an explanation but can't. I've never seen a plane move in a way that it could be out of sight in 5 seconds, and a star that bright would need more time to not be visible in the sky. I really don't know what to make of it.

Two witnesses spot unidentified objects over Pennsylvania

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: February 6, 2010
Location of event: Pennsylvania, USA

"I was shoveling my deck with a friend after the big Mid-Atlantic snow storm on February 6th. While shoveling, I happened to look up and saw 2 bright lights, approximately one finger width apart. My initial thought was, “Those planes are close or going to hit each other.”

A few seconds after I saw the lights, I quickly asked my friend to check the objects out. At this point we are both observing the two lights. I love astronomy and know star / planet positions very well- the 2 lights were in the northeast from my position, and planets would never be in this part of the sky. The details: the lights were the magnitude of Venus, very bright, a steady light (like a planet looks, no twinkles like a star).

In fact, it looked like 2 Venuses in the northeast sky at 8 PM Eastern Time USA. I held my hand up to see if the lights were moving; I thought maybe they were flares. There was no movement. I was in the military and know how flares move. The lights were 45 degrees from each other; the one right was higher, left lower.

My friend and I kept observing, asking “what the heck is that?” for about 2 minutes. Then the light on the bottom left winked out slowly, and 2 seconds later, the one on the right winked out. There was no movement across the sky; it looked like they were moving away from our viewing position, or disappearing. There were no more sightings after that.

More info- I live in an area where you see the commercial planes flying west out of Philadelphia. While we were observing the 2 objects, they disappeared while a plane flying out of Philadelphia came between us and our viewing position of the objects. Using the plane as an altitude reference, the lights were higher.

Texas truck driver reports large, strange lights

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: February 24, 2010
Location of event: Between Cisco, Texas and Rising Star, Texas

"I was driving a hazardous material transport truck between Cisco and Rising Star, TX, southbound on Highway 183. I noticed an extremely bright series of 3 lights in the sky. The lights weren't moving or were moving very slowly. I passed a car that had partly pulled over to view the sight and thought about pulling over myself.

The shoulder was too narrow, so I proceeded in a southerly direction toward the lights high in the southern sky. Then an additional 6 lights came on, and the lights covered at least 1/4 mile of the sky. I turned my spotlight on and shined it in the direction of the lights. The lights went out after a few minutes, and the sky was dark with no signs of any aircraft or aircraft lights.

I could see planes in the far distance, but nothing in the immediate area. Then the original first 3 lights reappeared for a few more minutes and went back out again. I was closer this time but still could see no signs of aircraft of any sort. The lights were very bright and impossible to not notice. There were 2 cars behind my truck, and they were sure to have seen the sight as well as the folks that had pulled over.

I studied the sky carefully. I have worked at night a lot in my life. I have seen the space shuttle re-enter the atmosphere, space junk fall, and catch fire, comets, meteors of all sorts, apache helicopters with lights underneath, and passenger jets with landing lights on. These lights were quite unique in comparison to anything I've ever seen. The light they admitted was white and bright with no colors at all. I would love to get a look at the radar at 8:02 pm. It was several small crafts or one very large one.

Multiple objects unknown maneuvering over Kansas

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: February 16, 2010
Location of event: Great Bend, Kansas

"I noticed these lights when I stepped out to my car to grab a bag of clothes to bring in. I glanced to the north to what I thought were a few airplanes flying near each other, I looked again to notice that these lights were far too unusual to be typical aircraft. I ran inside to fetch my video camera and my father. What I saw was approximately 4 to 15 objects at any given time. They would group and scatter frequently, moving in very erratic paths. They changed their direction effortlessly within a full 360 degree spectrum.

Their lights were pure white, and pulsed without a distinguishable pattern. On several occasions many of them would disappear from sight only to reappear again in completely different spots. About 10 minutes after my dad and I began watching them, two jets came along and seemed to be attempting to get near the objects.

The jets were easily recognizable compared to the objects, they moved in very linear paths, had the common red and blue aircraft lights, and turned in stretched arcs. Every time a jet came near one, the object would "bounce" out of its way at a sharp 90 degree incline, then would quickly change directions again. I was watching this from 18th and Van Buren looking straight north, starting around 8:30 PM. We continued to watch for 15 minutes or so from this location until they all began to head further north, out of our viewing range, so we hoped in my car and headed out on McKinley, just north of Twin Lake,s and continued to watch them dart back and forth across the sky until they eventually sped off to the southeast, moving far too fast to keep an eye on them by car.

I managed to capture a little bit on video, though most of the time they were moving too fast and changing direction too frequently for my camera to stay focused enough to see them. The video does capture the unusual sequence of lights blinking on and off, and reappearing elsewhere.

I cannot say that what we saw was a group of UFOs, or a strange government test, for that I am unsure, but these do defy a logical explanation on my behalf, and I feel deserve some sort of investigation. I will release the video after email contact when I feel comfortable with whom contacts me. I do not wish to come off as arrogant, I just prefer not to open a can of worms.

I am typically skeptical as far as unusual sightings go, but this left me unsure as what to think. Thank you for your time.
