Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 19, 2010
Location of event: England, UK
"I woke up from a deep sleep for no obvious reason at 10.15 pm last night and felt compelled to open the bedroom blinds and look out. Here in the south of England the night sky was faintly lit by street lamps reflected from the mist of volcanic particles filling our atmosphere at present.
For perhaps three seconds I stared intently at the clearly defined shape of a triangular black craft which passed silently overhead and out of sight over the house. Its shape was of an elongated triangle, reminiscent of the Concorde.
It had lights at each of its three points - red to the front and two white. It was flying to the west at the relatively low height of a small private plane, and was the size of a large passenger aicraft, but silent.
The flying ban due to volcanic ash is still in operation throughout the UK, and we have not even had the regular Chinook helicopter patrols patrolling around nearby Aldermaston nuclear plant for the past few days, and none of the usually constant Heathrow and Gatwick air traffic. The craft's path would have brought it from the direction of flaring orbs in the sky which develop false navigation lights and which we have been observing for some months.
Our Aldermaston orbs bear a strong resemblance to those repeatedly filmed by Alison Kruse in Pennsylvania, USA, and posted by her on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/user/MOREseeingUFOsPA"

Man claims American cargo plane sits still in sky, then disappears
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 13, 2010
Location of event: near Point Pleasant, West Virginia
"I was driving south on 35, somewhere between Point Pleasant and Southside, WV. To my left, I saw what looked like a huge plane flying way too low. I thought it was going to crash with it being so low, so I started to slow down. The closer I got to it, I saw that it was a military cargo plane.
Then, it seemed like it was not moving... so I stopped almost completely when I got right beside it. It was not moving. I turned down my radio and there was no noise from the plane. It looked like a big military cargo plane, it couldn't have been any higher in the air than the top of a telephone pole.
I could read the stickers on it it was so low. All I remember of the stickers is that there was an American flag and numbers and letters, no words. The plane was not tipping in any direction. It was completely still. Just sitting in the air.
After about a minute of being right beside it, traffic started coming from the other direction, so I had to move. Once the traffic moved, I could not see it anywhere behind me. There was no plane and no smoke from a crash. It was just gone.
I had the worst feeling of a panic attack I have ever felt. It started just as soon as I looked over at the plane when it was beside me. My entire chest hurt and I felt like I was going to vomit. I was so afraid. And, I do not know why!"

Large, triangle UFO seen over Idaho
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 15, 2010
Location of event: Idaho, USA
"Standing on the back porch looking at the stars, I noticed a large triangular object with a border of lights that seemed to flash, although it may have been due to the distance. The center was not lit up and I couldn't tell if it was solid or open. It was so much larger and brighter than anything else in the sky that I noticed it as soon as I began viewing the night sky.
I wondered if it was something projected from the ground, but it was much too high in the sky for that. Nor could it be a light projection from the earth to sky. It was located in the upper southwest quadrant.
It remained stationary for over 15 minutes. I returned to the house, but came out an hour later. It was still there. This time I noticed an aircraft flying below it and could compare sizes somewhat. The triangular object was much larger, perhaps 50 times larger.
I watched for another 15 minutes. The object remained stationary. An hour later I returned to look but it was gone. I hoped the triangular object was being viewed by the aircraft and that I might read about it in the newspaper, but it was not.
I felt confounded by the object, trying to make sense of it, but could find no explanation for what it might be and concluded that it was a UFO."

Triangle UFO clearly seen in Ventura, California
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 15, 2010
Location of event: Ventura, California
"At approximately 9 PM PDT, on April 15, 2010, in Ventura, California, I was looking toward the west at the constellation of Orion when I heard a brief “screech” sound lasting around one second and coming from the vicinity which I was viewing. Thinking it was an owl, I quickly looked for it and saw a faint silhouette of something moving in the clear sky.
At first it looked like it was a large bird high in the air as the front and two sides were heavily darkened against the mostly dark sky. It was moving toward me and over a period of about 2 seconds, it became clearer and resembled a hang-glider. It was descending and moving toward the east, and seemed to be gliding smoothly, making no sound that I could hear.
As it reached its closest point to me, what looked to be several hundred feet or so, a very sharp and definite outline appeared. It was an equilateral triangle, and had three circular areas symmetrically placed near the tips. There was a slight contrast between the gray triangular area and the circular areas, as the circular portions had a very faint glowing quality to them.
As it silently continued moving away from me, the craft seemed to have only 2 dimensions. It looked completely flat like it was a projection. It began to gently ripple with smooth wave patterns, and disappeared within a little over a second after doing so. The total event lasted around 8 seconds. I have my master’s degree in physics, and teach college level physics as a career. I am also involved in astronomy. I am about 20 minutes drive from a naval base and do hear and see military aircraft from time to time.
Though it is possible that I was seeing a “secret aircraft,” I am doubtful that such a craft would be flown in such plain view as it was very apparent what was seen. Judging from the change in angular diameter, its descent was fairly rapid and it changed from a dark, fluctuating shadow into a crisp configuration, lightly contrasted against the clear dark sky.
I would estimate the base of the triangle to be around 50 feet, though I could be way off. Once leveled off at around 500 feet, it glided forward at perhaps 100 miles per hour until it disappeared from sight somewhat like a mirage does. The measured angle from the horizontal at which the craft began to wave out of sight was around 20 degrees. It all happened very fast and was short in duration, making it difficult to be definite on measurements.
All in all, I saw a craft without doubt and I am perplexed by what I have seen."

Strange, boomerang shaped UFO seen over California
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 17, 2010
Location of event: Red Bluff, California
"My friends and I were in our hometown of Red Bluff, CA, for the annual rodeo each year, on April 17, 2010, and we had just finished eating dinner at our friend B's house. Around 9:30 PM, we decided to go into town for the festivities, and since there were more than a handful of us, a few of us had to jump in the back of my buddy T's truck.
Image left: Witness depiction.
We were all laying down in the bed of the truck so that we wouldn't be pulled over. It was myself, "K", "B", and B's brother "C", who were in the back of the truck. As we drove along, we were all talking loud, looking around at different things as we whizzed along Wilcox Rd, when suddenly I hear "K" yell out, "Hey, I see a UFO!" and I was like, "What? You're kidding," and I look up into the middle of the sky directly overhead and see this strange shape that at first reminded me of an angular cloud, in a kind of boomerang shape, but a cloud that was moving, and moving quite briskly.
It immediately clicked in my mind that this was not a natural object or a natural cloud. It moved in a fashion that is impossible for a cloud, and there was not a natural cloud in the nightsky, it was completely clear out. As my disbelief turned to awe, I continued to stare at the object as it glided over our position in complete silence, and I saw that within the cloudy substance that flowed from the front of the object to the rear, was a geometric boomerang shaped object, with sharp lines, as if drawn by a ruler, contrasting against the background.
The cloudy mist-like substance seemed to spring forth out of nothing from the front of the object, and trailed over the rest of the craft towards the rear. And as we gazed on in amazement for what was probably at most, 10 seconds, it approached the tree filled horizon, and that coupled with our turn on the road, took it out of our view.
We could not believe our eyes, and started cursing a myriad of profanities uttering our complete amazement at what the hell just happened, and what the hell we just saw. "B" and "C" had looked up a bit later than "K" and I, and had failed to see the geometric boomerang shape within the cloudy substance, but they did see the cloudy mist, in an angular fashion, gliding across the sky in a straight line briskly. It had absolutely no sound at all, no lights, and moved in a completely straight line, in a direction that I believe was North or Northeast.
We have no idea how big it was, only that it looked extremely large. When talking about it with "K" later he told me that he held his hand up to the sky afterwards, with his pinky finger and index finger extended outwards, the others tucked in, in a sort of devil's horn you might say, and he felt like the distance between the two fingers pointing outwards was a good approximation of the wingspan of the strange object in the sky. This however, really does not solve the question of just how big it really was, rather it only makes the argument for it being rather large. If it was close to us in the sky, it was still huge as all hell, and if it was even higher up in the sky, then its size is even larger, almost mind boggling large.
This story is written with all honesty and complete truth. Both "K" and I had always believed in the possibility of UFOs, but had never seen or experienced anything like this in our lives. After talking about it more and more, we both feel like this is an event that has changed our lives forever. To us there is no question about it: this was a real UFO, and it was not of this Earth. There is absolutely nothing manmade out there, not the stealth bomber, or anything, that can match up to what we saw that night.
Immediately the following day after seeing the object, I began to research online what sightings of UFOs were out there that met the same description, and I came upon a sighting of a UFO seen over Belville, Texas, in September of 2009, Case Number 19343. The article describing the UFO fit our description perfectly in almost every detail. The way it was described to be moving, that at first it seemed to be a fast moving cloud, but not a cloud at all, the way it looked, and the way it glided across the sky in a straight line.
After reading this, I knew that this was the exact same craft we saw, and that we were not alone in witnessing such a spectacular object. I will forever be changed by this. Let people judge me how they may, but I speak the truth. This is what I saw, and I was not alone in seeing it. Something IS out there."

Funnel shaped UFO seen over Illinois
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 10, 2010
Location of event: Illinois, USA
"Whilst driving home on Saturday evening (4/10/2010) with my wife after grocery shopping, we saw a very strange flying object in the night sky at 8:35 PM. At first it appeared to be the bright light of a plane or helicopter, but then as it neared there was a 'funnel' shaped array of flashing lights emanating from the center of the large bright light in an upwards direction.
Image left: Witness depiction.
As it passed overhead at a relatively slow speed, it appeared that the funnel shaped lights were engulfing the large bright light and were much bigger in diameter. I turned into a side street to watch the object disappear to the southwest. I heard no sound at all coming from the object.
Anybody got any ideas as to what we saw? By the way we had not been shopping for booze!!
Keith"

Family sees two triangles over Michigan
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 11, 2010
Location of event: West Bloomfield, Michigan
"My family (three of us) was driving from West Bloomfield, Michigan, to Pontiac on Telegraph Road, when we looked to our right, just before the Oakland County Court House, and just after the Summit Place Mall. There were two aircraft in the sky, seemed to be triangle shaped, extremely low flying, and they seemed quite small - maybe three-four feet across.
They would touch one another and then shoot apart and touch each other again. It appeared to be a game of leap frog. Both craft had white, blue, and red lights on them. We were not sure what the objects were, they appeared to be large kites, but kites cannot move the way they maneuvered.
The driver refused to stop to allow us to get a better look at them; we saw them for about four to five minutes, long enough to know they were not kites. We lost sight of them quickly because we were moving."

Low flying objects seen in Texas
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 8, 2010
Location of event: Texas, USA
I was coming back home from college in my car, on the 83 highway, late at night. My mother called to see when I was going to arrive, and I answered her call from my cell phone. I was on the passenger seat at this time, while a friend drove me home. My mother was upset I was coming home late, so I ignored what she was saying to me, and instead looked out the windshield at a slight angle towards the driver's side.
Image left: Witness depiction.
In the sky, across from Alvarez Rd (in between Rio Grande, TX and Roma, TX), I saw a bright white light, a perfect sphere. My first reaction was: "Oh my God! What's that?
"Oh my God. it’s moving..." While the driver still drove at 55 -60 mph, I kept track of the object for a few seconds.
The object was NOT far up in the sky, but instead it seemed to be pretty low to the ground. I saw it moving down towards the ground as if it were going to land. It moved downward in the shape of an arc, a movement I believe no airplane or helicopter do when they plan to land.
Anyhow, I do not know if the object landed, because I lost sight of it once it got too low to the ground because of trees covering the view. I noticed there was a house near where the object was, but there may be more than just one. The driver did not see what I saw, but I wanted to ask people around the area where I saw this object if they had seen something similar to what I saw, but I was too scared of doing that for fear of being called crazy.
What made me first notice the object was its perfect sphere-shaped bright-white glow. When I first saw it, I didn't think anything of it; until I saw it was actually moving downward as if to land. I thought it could be perhaps a UFO because of the way it moved downward, forming an arc path.
During the sighting I felt in disbelieve; it was very unexpected, because I was not looking at the sky to find strange things, but yet there it was in plain sight. While still on the phone with my mother, I told her what I had seen: the bright, white light shaped as a sphere.
After the sighting when I got home, I asked myself what it could have been and started considering possibilities, yet I could not find an explanation for it. So I arrived at one conclusion: an Unidentified Flying Object... apparently about to land.

Back-lit saucer-shaped object seen in North Carolina
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: March 3, 2010
Location of event: North Carolina, USA
"I was out walking my dog, and I looked up and saw a blimp-like object that looked like a saucer-shaped object that moved with no sound and I guess no engine as we know them. It moved slowly and it was like dark matter - that was the only way I know how to describe it. The light behind the craft made it visible, and I could see just how huge it was.
You could see the blackness of the ship outline. You could see the eeriness of the ship. I was so afraid just because of the size of this thing? I guess that I am in shock. My dog just looked at me fall to the ground. Why is this being a regular thing here, and not all of the area.
I feel that I need someone to protect me and the rest of society from these flying objects. I just wish that people would realize that these are a threat to us. The Airport wouldn't say either way if or not there was anything in the sky that night?"

Huge, object with four lights seen speeding in California skies
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 9, 2010
Location of event: near San Francisco, California
"I went outside for a smoke at around 1:10 AM this morning. I was looking at the stars facing southwest, when something caught my eye. I quickly looked over, and in 1-2 seconds I saw 4 lights moving at an incredible speed past the roof of my house. I quickly ran around to the side of the house to see what it was.
For the next 2-4 seconds I clearly saw 3 lights forming a triangle speeding across the sky directly south. There was also a light right in the middle of all 3. There was a large distance between the lights, because at the speed they were moving, they stayed in perfect unison probably 5-6 miles apart from each other.
I'm not sure whether or not these were rim lights to some large craft, but it seems unlikely since the distance between them stayed in a perfect triangle. If this is the case, the craft must have been absolutely huge. The speed of this object was approximately (and I'm guessing here) 10-15x faster than the airplanes I observed in the sky over the San Francisco Bay Area during the minutes after the sighting. I can't stress enough that this thing was moving INCREDIBLY FAST!
The night sky during the event was very hazy, with the lights from San Francisco making it hard to see the stars. I lost sight of the object in the haze traveling southward. The lights also appeared to be speeding up. For the past year, I lived outside the city, and saw many shooting stars during the night and early morning. I am absolutely certain that these lights were not shooting stars. I hope this report is of use to someone.
Cheers,
Stuartb"

Multiple, unknown lights seen over Pennsylvania
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 3, 2010
Location of event: Pennsylvania, USA
"I was standing on the steps of my back porch when I saw these five-seven lights moving very fast. The color was kind of orange at first. That must have been because they came through the low, scattered cloud cover and the lights from town shining up hindered the glow. Whatever they were, they were moving very fast.
They were not in formation until they started to get out of the viewing area that I could see. They then formed a V-formation, but all I could see was just three of them when they formed up. The objects were going due north on the east side of Clarion, again they were moving very fast.
I just cannot believe what I saw. This is the second time I have seen lights in the skies over Clarion, PA. I'm 60 years old and lived in the country all my life and looked at the stars and airplanes at night and haven't seen anything.
In the last six months this is the second time. What on God's earth is going on?"

Two witnesses see two separate unknowns in Colorado
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 7, 2010
Location of event: Colorado, USA
"I stepped outside at approximately 2:00 AM to smoke and saw a bright light hovering or slowly moving in my direction. It was not shining a light, but more like illuminating itself about 30 ft above a neighbors house. It took about 2 minutes to get closer and as it did, I called my younger sister which also witnessed the craft.
We could tell it was not a helicopter or anything like that because we were so close we could not see propellers or hear any noise. It was just hovering, and then slowly moved on until we lost sight of it. We also noticed another bright light about 10 ft above an apartment across the street which seemed to be just hovering, and then 2 more crafts appeared no higher than the street lights at the corner of our block.
We recorded this one on our camera phone. The light above the apartment seemed to just disappear. We witnessed these craft for about 10 minutes or more. We can assure you it was no plane, helicopter, or anything like that. We were so close that we could tell it wasn't anything of our military, the news, or from the airport.
When first seeing this light I couldn't believe it. I wasn't sure if I was seeing a UFO or not until it got closer and then that's when I knew for sure. I am now a firm believer and no one can change my mind. I know what I saw and no one can tell me different."

Strange flying object moves over bridge in Pennsylvania
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 11, 2010
Location of event: Pennsylvania, USA
"I went to Pennsylvania for a weekend vacation. When we were driving back, we took the Ben Franklin Bridge back into NJ. As we were on it, I noticed off to my right there was a stationary object above the water about a mile from my location.
The object was also sort of hazy. As a bridge support went by my vision, the object was gone from the area that I originally viewed it. I then saw it approximately 2 miles to the east a second or two later. It once again was stationary. It was in the same position in the air and strangely did not increase or decrease in size even though my distance from it changed.
While moving down the highway, it was obscured by trees for a couple seconds, then it was gone when I was able to see its location again. I looked all around the area, however, could not get any other location on it. I remember thinking to tell the other four people in the car with me, but for some reason, I didn't tell anyone about it until later that night.
The entire event may have lasted about 10 seconds from start to finish. The object could have been easily seen by anyone in the area due to its location was in a wide open area of the sky over the water. This object should have been recorded on the radar of the Philadelphia Airport. It was well within reach of their radar, and the area of that airport.
Judging by my memory of its location, it was probably closer to the Walt Whitman Bridge than the Ben Franklin Bridge. Even if I was mistaken on this object and it was a plane, the shape was close to a proper "L" shape and to relocate to its second location, the "plane" would have had to be flying backwards. Not possible. This event took place on 04/11/2010 at approximately 3:30 to 4:00 PM, EST."

Cigar shaped UFO moves over California building
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 6, 2010
Location of event: California, USA
"We were sitting in the hot tub by our apartment in the city, when we heard what sounded like the drone of engines. We looked up and saw a cigar-shaped object just barely clearing the top of the buildings. The object was about 100 feet in length and had steady red lights on the bottom of it.
The lights were rectangular in shape, and there were four along the bottom length of the object. It moved rather slowly across the sky from East to West, it seems to take a long time for it to fly past us.
It is very rare when a plane flies over our 15 story apartment building, and then it's typically only a small plane or helicopter. We can see to the West of us aircraft approaching the Sacramento airport, however, they typically are traveling north. The object that we saw would have flown right into the flight pattern of approaching planes at the airport.
After the object got a couple of miles past us, we could no longer see it, as the buildings and trees blocked our sight."

Two circular UFOs seen over Ohio
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 3, 2010
Location of event: Ohio, USA
"Around 9:00 PM, my brother and I went out into a field next to our home with binoculars to look at some stars and whatever else we could see. As we sat there, all we were seeing were planes. After about 15 minutes I took my eyes away from the binoculars and two grayish objects flying from the southwest caught my eye.
I was expecting them to be planes or something like it, but instantly I could tell they weren't. I said to my brother, "Hey, look at those," as I pointed in their direction. I looked at them through the binoculars, but could only see their shape with no details except some lines on the bottom. They were very low compared to aircraft, and were dead silent.
They flew side by side in a straight line with a large gap in between. They got closer, and I could see they were circular and had dark, curved lines on the under side. There were no visible lights, and the size of both was hard to tell, but if I had to estimate I would say they were 25 feet across. As we watched them, we was amazed because we had never seen anything like it. They were visible for about 15 to 20 seconds as they flew to the northeast. They went out of sight when they flew over the tops of some trees.
My brother and I talked about what we saw, and we seemed to describe them the same way. Afterwards we waited for another 15 minutes to see if more would show up, but nothing like it was seen again."

Object makes unusual maneuvers over Missouri
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 2, 2010
Location of event: Missouri, USA
"I was driving northwest on 291 Hwy when I noticed a white, shiny object moving slowly across the sky. At first I thought it was a large plane, but it had no wings or tail. It looked like two oval- shaped objects with a piece connecting them in the center.
As I watched, it stopped and went backwards, then forward again very quickly, then continued on its slow forward movement. This happened again, then I lost sight of it because I had to turn left at a light.
I pulled over to the side of the road to see if I could find it again, but it was gone. Due to the fast, jerky movements backward, then forward again, this could not have been a plane or helicopter. It moved too fast for that.
The object was headed in an East-West direction at 40 degrees off the horizon. It looked very large. The sky was clear with no overcast."

Motorist spots flying rectangle in Tampa, Florida
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 6, 2010
Location of event: Tampa, Florida
"I was driving south on Orient Road in Tampa to get on I-4 and drive west. I glanced up and to the east (I don't know why) and saw a rectangle flying more or less north. I immediately thought of a rectangle my wife and I saw fly north of Orlando International Airport about 7-8 years ago.
I had no idea what it was, but it was not one of ours. I was extremely curious. I kept glancing through trees as I drove to try to keep it in view, but I realized I would not get a good view unless I turned east. So I turned onto Hillsborough Avenue instead of taking my turn to the west.
I was concerned about time, as I had a meeting at 7 PM miles away through traffic. The object was not coal black, but grayish black, as though it was partially transmitting light. It seemed to be about 5,000 feet high, but I was unsure of its length and height. It appeared to be about three of four times as long as it was high and maybe the size of a twin engine commercial jet, but taller.
Most peculiar was that it appeared to be flat, like a gray flag that did not wave. It appeared to be 4-5 miles away, and perhaps 20 degrees above the horizon. I realized that it was shortening in length, which meant it was turning to the east, and that I could not catch up.
Before it started its turn to the east, it was moving through roughly 1-2 degrees of arc per second. I turned around, got back on I-4 this time, and headed west. I could no longer see the object, even in my mirrors.
Surely someone else saw the thing, as this was rush hour traffic, and it had to cross the path of I-4 from Tampa to Orlando, or maybe just stayed on the north side of I-4. I decided to report it to MUFON. I did not think to take a picture with my cell phone. It made no sound, nor did it have lights or a contrail."

Multiple, unknown objects seen over Breckenridge, Texas
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: March 31, 2010
Location of event: Breckenridge, Texas
"My spouse and I saw some strange lights south-southeast of Breckenridge, Texas, at 8:30 PM this evening. The lights were in the direction of Eastland but possibly further south.
I spent the last hour before dusk planting beans and peas in our plowed field. I had just finished for the day and was standing at the NE corner of the field, with a clear 360 degree view of the sky. I was observing a few stars barely discernible above me, when something made me look to my south.
Image left: Witness depiction.
Suddenly a bright white-orange light appeared, then 4 more next to (east of) it. The four came on all at once. They all blinked off at the same time. These lights were approximately 10 degrees above the southern horizon. The lights only appeared for a few seconds each time.
I ran to the house, yelling for my husband to "Come quick, UFOs!" (I didn't know what they were at the time, still don't). I grabbed my binoculars and by the time we got to the field, the lights were gone, but as we stood there, a light appeared, then 3 more in a loose triangle formation.
They all blinked out at the same time, then slightly further east they all appeared again. Each time they blinked out, they would appear a bit further east until I could no longer see them because of the tree line."

UFO and jets seen over Montana
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 3, 2010
Location of event: Montana, USA
"I was at my computer until I received a call from my brother who was on his way home, and he told me to go outside to see a light his wife and my other brother were seeing. So I went outside and saw a bright light sitting motionless in the sky. Then my mother and nephew came out and saw the same thing.
I ran back inside to grab my binoculars so I could catch a better look, and as I returned back outside I looked and saw a disc-shaped object that looked as if it were spinning and it had multiple colored lights surrounding it. Then there were 2 to 3 jets pursuing it, it then started slowly moving west, so we took a drive and tried to see if we could get a better look at it.
We parked and watched as the jets gave up and turned around, and we watched for almost 3 minutes until it faded out. We were excited to see this as it happens often, and that's all I have for now until we make another sighting."

Silent, unknown object seen over New Mexico
Report from MUFON:
Date of event: April 2, 2010
Location of event: New Mexico, USA
"About 9:05 PM, My friend and I were sitting on the patio when we saw something strange in the sky. It passed by roughly south to north. It was low in the sky (mountain tops visible above it). It was visible for probably less than a minute before disappearing beyond the neighbor's trees. It made no sound.
It was difficult to determine the size or altitude, but if it was about 3000' AGL (common altitude for airliners passing over our house), it was bigger than (and traveling slower than) an airliner. I have to think it was low, because if it was higher, it would have been huge!
It was very dimly illuminated. In fact, it was difficult to see if you looked straight at it (center field vision is not good at night). It almost looked like it wasn't directly lighted, but might have been illuminated by reflection of the city lights. (Imagine the phosphorescent glow of a ship's wake on the ocean at night.) It had no navigation lights.
Our house is just north of the Tijeras arroyo, between Tramway & Juan Tabo. The patio faces east, with a good view of the south end of the Sandias. We spend a lot of evenings on the patio sky gazing. It is common for us to see aircraft (airliners, helicopters, Ospreys), satellites, weather balloons, and shooting stars. This wasn't any of those."
