'Nessie' picture branded a hoax

"ATTEMPTS to tout a charcoal drawing supposedly of the Loch Ness Monster as a masterpiece by the Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis Escher have been dismissed as a 'scam' by the managing director of a company which licenses the use of copyright on all the artist's work.

An on-line campaign has been mounted to authenticate the drawing found in an attic by retired traffic cop Raffaele De Feo in Voluturara in Southern Italy. The story has hit the Italian national press and TV...

When James Courtney and Michael Meehan, two crew members S.S. Watertown, were cleaning a cargo tank of the oil tanker as it sailed toward the Panama Canal from New York City in December of 1924, one freak accident happened and they engulfed in gas flames and perished. They men were buried at sea off the Mexican coast on December 4.

But this wasn’t the last they saw of the men. The next day, one of the crew members reported seeing the faces of the two men in the waves close to the ship. They remained there for several seconds before fading out. And for several days thereafter, phantom like faces was seen by the crew. There has never been any explanation for their sightings.

This photograph was taken in 1919, but wasn’t published until 1975. The photograph shows squadron which served World War I at the HMS Daedalus training facility. Upon further inspection, a face can clearly been seen behind the fourth men from the left.

Members of the squadron have reported it to be the face of Freddy Jackson, an air mechanic who had been accidentally killed by an airplane propeller two days earlier. The same day as this photograph was taken, Jackson’s burial had taken place. Some think he was unaware of his death and decided to show up on the group photo.

Report sent to paranormal.about

"I was at the Stanley on a ghost tour," says George. "I came back with four orb pictures (which I can send you if you wish), and upon further investigation I have this one. I didn't notice it until I was on the plane home and zoomed in on all my Stanley pictures. I was shocked at first and have been showing it to people the past few weeks and been getting similar reactions of amazement to people saying it looked like a Cabbage Patch doll. Just thought you might have some ideas.

At first I thought it was a dog, then after zooming closer, it certainly looks like an apparition of a little boy. If you look at the people on the ground they are so clear, when you look at the window it looks like a vision. You'll also notice there is no curtain or glass to distort the view; the window is open."

"I contacted the hotel to find out about the room," George says, "and this is what they said:"
OK, the room number is 1211. Last Friday, there was a single man checked in that room who was part of a business conference. That doesn't mean he DIDN'T have a child with him, but it is unlikely that he did. -- Stanley Hotel

UFO buzzes Sydney - and here's 'proof'

"IT EMERGED from a blazing light in the clouds, descending on a busy street before zipping off silently into the sunset.

Just what – or who – propelled the strange flying disc across Sydney’s skyline may never be known. But while the close encounter was over in seconds, it was enough to convince mother-of-two Fiona Hartigan that she’d just seen a UFO. And she has the photos to prove it...

Unidentified objects photographed near Rachel, Nevada

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 15, 2010
Location of event: Rachel, Nevada

"On March 15, my wife and I had just visited the Little ALeInn on Highway 375 in Rachel Nevada. We left and drove back down 375 and pulled off the road just about a mile past Mailbox Rd. I believe the time may have been approximately 9:00-10:00 PM (PST). In one of the videos my wife mentions 12:00 Central time; this was the end of the sighting.

I parked the vehicle at more or less a forty-five degree angle to the road with the headlights pointed towards the glow of Las Vegas in the sky. This glow also illuminated the mountains and landscape (silhouette etc.). We had pulled off the road to see the stars in the remote sky; we were not there to catch a sighting (13 years married with no break from the kids-type trip).

We were in a hurry to get back to Vegas, but decided to stop along 375. We initially left the car running and lights on with my wife sitting in the passenger seat. I left the car and came around to her side and proceeded to watch the horizon. Once we both saw how many stars there were, I told her to turn off the car and step out with me.

We had both been standing there for just a few minutes trying to get both the digital cameras and the video camera to pick up what we saw. Just then I noticed a bright object (not a shooting star) high up in the sky headed towards Vegas. This object was very small or very high, but did not exhibit normal characteristics of a plane. There were no flashing strobes or sound from engines etc. This object being small, and disappearing quickly, did not really grab my attention. However, moments later from the same direction the object disappeared from came two lights flashing.

They seemed motionless and as if they were affixed to each other. In other words, it seemed that they were attached by a bar or direct line etc. They flashed for a while before I even considered pointing the camera at them. There are many cattle crossing lights of similar color along 375.

It finally dawned on me that those lights had to be miles away and could not possibly be the same type of lights; these lights were much brighter and intense. I pointed the video camera at the objects and could not pick them up until I turned on night shot. The two larger lights were very visible; in addition to this, were two other smaller lights that could not be seen with the naked eye. We watched these objects move from left to right going in the direction of Rachel.

As the two primary objects (PO) moved in this direction you could see other smaller lights moving around them. They would zip from one point to another. As they shot away their illumination would dim. In all probability, there were probably more objects out there than we captured or even saw. I based this on the fact that after watching the video, you can see objects you could not see with the naked eye.

The PO traveled from the direction of Vegas until they were almost perpendicular with 375 before we lost sight of them. We waited for a few more minutes and then decided to leave. We had only gone about a mile or two when my wife screamed “There they are again.”

This time the PO were only a few miles from us (I am guessing about this, their contrast in the night sky made this hard to tell but they were definitely very close to us). In the video I try to use the ground as both a reference and to help make the camera focus as it should. As you will see in the video, based on the ground etc. it seems that they were right on top of us, but I could not figure out why we were not being dowsed by the light.

Also, I did not see any report of this light on the ground. It was as if the light did not travel or radiate like normal lights. This was very strange for something so bright and intense. The PO made very slow movements. The additional smaller objects seemed to jet around the larger ones and were more agile. In one of the videos I think I see something like electricity or sparks coming from the PO.

Now the strangest thing was that the PO seemed to merge with each other right before they “blinked” off or out. Also strange is that I heard my wife say they are gone, but she says this at least a second or two before they “blink” out again on the camera (not sure why there was a delay between her eyes and the camera).

In the stills there seems to be a structure present. As far as feelings went, I think we were just in amazement of the objects. When they reappeared closer to us the second time I think we were both a little frightened. It seemed to be checking us out.

We got a little more worried about the remote location and the fact that there were other objects moving around the PO. I do believe that if we stayed there, the objects would have come closer. I had no feeling whatsoever that the event was over with when we left. These objects were clearly doing something related to that general locale. We decided to leave based on the fact that each time the lights went off, they came back on closer.

Top 10 Ghost Images - #1

The photo above is probably one of the most famous photographs ever taken of what is said to be a ghost. It was taken in September of 1936 at Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England by two photographers, Captain Provand and Indre Shira, assigned by Country Life magazine. Shira recalled the event as following:

"Captain Provand took one photograph while I flashed the light. He was focusing for another exposure; I was standing by his side just behind the camera with the flashlight pistol in my hand, looking directly up the staircase. All at once I detected an ethereal veiled form coming slowly down the stairs. Rather excitedly, I called out sharply: 'Quick, quick, there's something.' I pressed the trigger of the flashlight pistol. After the flash and on closing the shutter, Captain Provand removed the focusing cloth from his head and turning to me said: 'What's all the excitement about?"

The ghost, called “The Brown Lady”, was first seen upon developing the picture and it was published in the December 16 of that year’s issue of Country Life.

Top 10 Ghost Images - #2

This photograph was taken in Tombstone, Arizona at Boothill Graveyard. It was taken by Terry Ike Clanton, a descendent to the Clanton Gang, on a friend of him. The photo was taken in black and white because he wanted Old West-looking pictures of himself dressed in Clanton's 1880-period clothes. Upon developing the photograph, they were able to see a thin man with a black hat just to the right of his friend. According to them, no one except was at the scene for the photograph.

Two unidentified objects captured by IR camera

Report from MUFON:

Date of event: March 4, 2008
Location of event: ?

"To start with I build & install DVR Surveillance systems, and this was caught on one of my very high end Bosch true IR Camera. I was on the phone with a customer giving him a live view of the cameras showing how they worked. This camera is on a pan/tilt 360 mount, so I was moving the camera all over to show him how it worked.

We started to talk again, and I had left the camera aiming up towards the southern sky. Then he and I both saw this object fly through the shot, and I told him it was probability a bird. So I took the chance to show him the on-line replay. When looking back, I knew at once it was some sort of UFO, but not just one... in playback I saw there was two and very clearly. I also analyze video for customers and police, so I'm very good at it.

I worked on it for hours and they appear to be two triangle crafts moving very fast from west to east. What the real clincher for me was is that the top craft went in and out of the clouds, proving they were not an illusion or something on the lens. It happened so fast there was really no feeling at the time, but when I played it back, I just about had a heart attack because I knew what it was at once without a doubt.

I left the camera aimed at that same place for about a week, but they never flew through again.

Triangle UFO photographed over California, 2009

Report from MUFON:

Date reported: February 26, 2010
Date of event: November 29, 2009
Location of event: Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, California

"On November 29, 2009 my husband, my son and I were out in Anza Borrego Desert exploring. We were in Grapevine Canyon; we stopped at 1:30 pm to eat lunch. We were close to the end of the canyon in an old Indian village looking around. At approximately 1:54 pm we heard a military jet go by. We looked up and saw to the left of us a silver object. It moved across the sky from left to right slowly, then it broke apart into what looked like a larger triangle of three silver balls. It then moved slowly and went back to the smaller object which was a smaller triangle. My husband yelled "UFO" and I started taking pictures. What is weird with the three pictures I am sending to you is that in the third picture it does not take off and disappear...It disappears in place. The wires you see in the photos are telephone wires.

Grapevine Canyon is a sandy trail located between the Volcan Mountains and Grapevine Hills into Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Grapevine Canyon can be reached via a road that passes through private property off S22. Another access is from S22 through the Jasper Trail which is more towards the west end of the Grapevine Canyon.

Canadian researcher snaps sasquatch in Vancouver?

"A Canadian researcher managed to take a picture of the face of the legendary hairy giant – the mascot of the Winter Olympic Games 2010.

Randy Brisson, a well-known Canadian cryptozoologist, shared hot information with his Russian colleagues. The researcher sent a photograph of the North American Bigfoot to Igor Burtsev and Dmitry Bayanov, the directors of the International Center for Hominology. The Canadian took the picture of the creature in Vancouver, the capital of Winter Games 2010.

Brisson assured his Russian colleagues that it was a photo of the legendary Bigfoot, or Sasquatch. The popularity of the mythical creature has won it the honor to become a symbol and a mascot of Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Mr. Brisson’s photo may mean that the mascots ramble somewhere in the woods of the Olympic city.

The Canadian cryptozoologist said that he had seen a Sasquatch peeking out from behind a huge stub in the woods near Pitt Lake. The spot, where the creature was supposedly photographed, is quite far from sports objects...
